Safeguarding Procedures

At Titans, the safety and well-being of our players are of utmost importance. We are committed to providing a secure environment where children and young people can pursue their passion for football safely. Our safeguarding procedures are designed to protect our players from harm, abuse, and any potential risks while participating in our programs.

Our Safeguarding Principles

Child-Centred Approach: Our safeguarding procedures place the best interests of the child at the forefront of all decisions. We prioritise the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of our players.

Prevention and Awareness: We believe in proactive measures to prevent harm. Our staff, coaches, and volunteers are trained to recognise signs of abuse and are aware of their responsibilities in safeguarding our players.

Transparency and Accountability: We maintain transparent communication with parents, guardians, and relevant authorities when necessary. We hold ourselves accountable for ensuring the safety of all our participants.

Safeguarding Procedures

1. Recruitment and Training:

All staff, coaches, and volunteers undergo thorough background checks before joining the academy.
Our personnel receive regular training on safeguarding principles, including identifying signs of abuse and appropriate reporting procedures.

2. Code of Conduct:

We have a strict code of conduct for all staff, coaches, players, and parents that emphasises appropriate behaviour and respectful interactions.

3. Supervision:

Our training sessions and activities are supervised at all times to maintain a safe environment.
The ratio of qualified coaches to players is maintained to ensure adequate supervision.

4. Reporting Mechanisms:

We have clear and confidential reporting mechanisms in place for anyone who has concerns about the safety or well-being of a child. Reports can be made to designated safeguarding officers.

5. Responding to Concerns:

Any reported concerns are taken seriously and investigated promptly and impartially.
We collaborate with local authorities and organisations to ensure a coordinated response when necessary.

6. Communication:

We maintain open and transparent communication with parents and guardians, ensuring they are informed about our safeguarding procedures and their role in ensuring their child’s safety.

7. Anti-Bullying Policy:

We have an anti-bullying policy in place to prevent and address bullying behaviours, ensuring a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
